My bounty is
as boundless
as the sea,
My love as deep;
the more
I give to thee,
The more I have
for both are infinite.

Wendy Dullman & Gabe Gallagher
August 6, 2005 (7545 days since wedding)

After trying her hand as a classroom teacher (5th grade) Wendy decided to become a special education teacher. She is now a RSP (Resource Specialist) for San Diego City School District.

Gabe is a Computer Scientist (programmer.) He is currently working at the small start-up mobZilla.

It was his first day away from home at college. UCSD was a big campus, and Gabe wanted to get started off on the right foot. The Provost was giving a speech early the first morning for the incoming freshman. None of Gabe's suitemates wanted to attend, but he did. He wanted to get started off on the right foot. Gabe schlepped himself out of bed, and groggily walked to the event. When he got there, he noticed some older students had volunteered to pass out goodie bags to the freshmen. Wendy was one of these volunteers.

That quarter Gabe joined ACT, a volunteer organization that Wendy led.

At the start of the next quarter, Gabe accidentally turned the ringer off on his phone. Wendy, not wanting Gabe to miss the first ACT meeting of the quarter tried calling him, but he would never pick up. After about a week of not getting any phone calls, Gabe discovered that his phone's ringer was off. The moment he turned it back on, the phone rang. It was Wendy. On that phone call she asked him out to go see the UCSD Tritons play basketball that Friday night. Gabe and Wendy went to the basketball game and had a great time. The Tritons lost.

Six years later, he proposed.

On the sixth anniversary of their first kiss, Gabe gave Wendy a card. In the card was a list of 13 possible locations of where they would be leaving for the following morning. After a short flight to Kauai, Gabe and Wendy were relaxing and soaking up the sun in Hawaii. On their second day in paradise Gabe took Wendy on a rugged hike through the Waimea Canyon. They had a great time getting sweaty and muddy, although Gabe almost fell off a 300 foot cliff (darn thick grass.) When they returned to the hotel, Wendy noticed that the hotel was hosting a hula concert at sunset. Without changing out of their hiking clothes, they went to the concert.

Now keep in mind, Gabe was under the impression that Wendy wanted a public proposal, and she wanted him to be very embarrassed. So at this concert, Gabe decided he was going to propose. He told Wendy, "I have to go to the bathroom." And then dashed across the hotel grounds back to their room to fetch the ring. When he returned to the concert, he approached one of the event organizers and got the ok to go on stage after the hula dancers were done. Gabe returned to watch the dancing with Wendy.

When the dancing was done, Gabe got up and walked on stage, accepting the microphone from one of the hula dancers. Gabe introduced himself, "Hi, my name is Gabe, and that is Wendy," pointing to his confused-looking girlfriend. He then asked Wendy to join him up on stage. As she approached, Gabe explained to the audience, "I have been dating this wonderful girl for six years, and I have something I want to tell her." He turned to Wendy and looked her in eyes and said some nice words. In one fluid motion, he set the microphone on the ground, took the ring out from his pocket, and knelt. He then proposed.

She instantly said, "yes." The audience applauded and Gabe and Wendy retreated to watch the sun set on the beaches of Kauai.

As it turns out, Wendy was joking and didn't need a public proposal.
